The Smart STB developer announced that the app is compatible with Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, and tells owners to put smart-stb.net/app.apk into a Downloader app. That is the address used in this guide.
Fire TV devices do not all run the same system. Models with Fire OS, Amazon's Android-based system, accept an app file fetched by Downloader, which is the route used here.
Amazon's newer Vega OS models use their own app package format, according to Amazon's developer documentation. The method on this page does not work on them. If you are not sure which system your model runs, check Amazon's information for that model before you start.
On an Android TV or Google TV device, the developer distributes a newer version, Smart STB+, on Google Play instead.
What you need
- Your Streamora details. Ask for the free 24-hour trial on WhatsApp and tell us which app and device you use. 24/7 support by real humans.
- The device, connected to the internet, and its remote or touch screen.
- A few minutes. Keep our message open so you can copy from it.
Install Smart STB and connect the portal
- Install Downloader. On the Fire TV home screen, open the search, type Downloader and install the free app whose publisher is AFTVnews.com. It comes from the Amazon Appstore.
- Let Downloader install apps. Open Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, and turn on Apps from Unknown Sources. On some software versions the switch is listed per app: choose Downloader. If Developer Options is hidden, Amazon's documentation says it appears after you press the select button seven times on the About entry.
- Enter the developer's address. In Downloader, type smart-stb.net/app.apk exactly as the Smart STB website shows it, then confirm the installation.
- Open Smart STB. A disclaimer appears after a few seconds; press OK or wait about ten seconds.
- Find the Virtual MAC. On the Loading Portal screen, press OK (or tap the screen), open System settings, then Device info. The Virtual MAC is shown in the middle of the screen.
- Send it to us. Message the Virtual MAC on WhatsApp with your trial request or your order. We link it to your access and reply with the portal address.
- Enter the portal. In System settings, open Portals, switch Multiportal mode on and enable Portal 1. Type the address we sent, save it, then make it the default portal so it opens at start-up.
Fire TV and Smart STB details
- No green key? The developer saves portal changes with the green key, F2 on some remotes. If your remote has none, press Back or Return, then OK.
- Skip the typing. The Loading Portal screen shows a QR code. Scan it with your phone to set the portal there instead of with the remote.
- Two separate purchases. The developer sells the app licence, one per device, after the trial; your Streamora plan is the TV service. The developer states that app payments are non-refundable.
- One screen. A Streamora subscription plays on one screen at a time. You can move it to another device later; just let us know.
If it does not load
Check the details character by character, restart the app and try again on a cable or closer to the router. The buffering guide covers slow starts and pauses. If it still fails, send us a screenshot on WhatsApp or write to contact@streamoratv.org; 24/7 support by real humans.
Questions about this setup
Is Smart STB in the Amazon Appstore?
A Smart STB listing exists there under its developer's name, but the developer's own Fire TV instructions point to the Downloader address. That is the route we describe.
Why do you need my MAC address?
Portal access is tied to the device. The Virtual MAC tells our portal which device to open.
Can I use an M3U link instead?
The app supports M3U lists, so yes. Portal access is the route it is built around, and the one we suggest.
Does it work on every Fire TV?
Only on models running Fire OS. Vega OS models cannot install this file.
